Mr. Heah's Tuesday Update (Sep. 28, 2020)

Happy Monday dear parents/guardians!

I hope you had a great weekend. A few items for your attention:

  1. Some parents have asked me for clarification around the revised health screening protocols. You may have heard that several symptoms (runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, stomach ache, headache) were taken off the health screening list last week by the PHO. The symptoms were removed as they were no longer deemed to be symptoms of COVID-19. Although these symptoms are no longer on the health screening, we are still asking parents to please keep your children home if they present with any of these symptoms not due to a pre-existing condition (like allergies.) We want to ensure that we are keeping illness out of the school so that all of our students and staff stay healthy.

  2. A reminder that Cross Country starts today after school for students in Gr. 2, 3, 4. Practice goes from 3:00pm to 3:45pm. Please be on time for pickup, and remember that parents are not allowed past the gate into the school property. Each class will be assigned to a staff member who will supervise their grade.

  3. School Mass livestream link for this Wednesday: https://youtu.be/CWAzMSpveh0. My apologies for the misinformation last week where I asked you to bookmark the link. It will be a different link each week. Father Paul is away next week so there will not be a school mass. Please feel free to bring a non-perishable item for the Saint Vincent De Paul foodbank- we will be collecting each week on Mass days.

  4. Wednesday is Orange Shirt Day. Students are invited to come to school with an orange shirt, however we are still asking students to wear their school uniform bottoms, as it is not a full dress down day. If students don’t have an orange shirt, they are expected to be in normal uniform.

Thank you for your continued support.

God bless,

C. Heah
Principal
