  • Spirit Wear Day is on Monday. A reminder that this is not a full dress down day. Students are invited to wear their Spirit Wear (or school colours if you don’t own spirit wear) on top with uniform bottoms and school shoes.

  • Flowers for Mary- We would love to have some flowers to place around our Mary statue for the month of May. This coming week we are inviting students in Kinder, Grade 1 and 2 to bring flowers if they would like.

  • Track and Field:
Please click here for May 9th SJB meet
    .

    • Tuesday will be the last practice for all students. Moving forward, only those students that have been selected will be practicing. Mr. K will be sending a revised practice schedule.

  • Summer dress code- takes effect May 2nd. A reminder that boys must wear Top Marks shorts, blue or navy socks above the ankles and all black shoes.

  • We had our first in-person assembly today since COVID hit. What a blessing and joy to have all of our students together in one place! Thank you Grade 2A and 4 students for leading a beautiful assembly today.

  • Congratulations to Josephine in Grade 5 who placed top 6 at the CISVA Spelling Bee finals, in a group of 19 students, many who were in Grade 7!

  • Congratulations to Ava Schneider and Aiden Choi who won the gold medal at the CISVA badminton mixed doubles finals! Congratulations to all of our badminton players on their first badminton season!

  • Please be reminded that there is no supervision prior to 8:30am. Please do not drop your child off at school prior to 8:30am, or you do so at your own risk.

  • Our Grade 2s are receiving their First Communion tomorrow! Please keep them in your prayers.

  • PEC Elections- see attached video from our chairperson Jacqueline Johnson

  • May 6 Deadline for CCS Multicultural Video submissions- poster attached

  • Maintenance Update: Our next workbee is Saturday, May 7th. Some of our major areas of focus will be weeding/tending the gardens, edging gardens, and continuing to deal with the brambles at the north end of the property. We have about 25 spots still open, so if you need workbee hours, now is the time to sign up!

If you are coming to the workbee, gardening gloves will be an asset. You may also want to bring gardening knee pads or something similar, as we will be weeding the garden area by the south fence next to the parish centre. For anyone who would like to take care of the brambles, gloves, pants, and long-sleeved shirts are helpful.

PLEASE NOTE: there will be NO WORKBEES IN JUNE as all Parent Participation hours must be submitted by May 31st. The remaining two workbees are May 7thand May 28th. Any maintenance jobs that are posted in June will NOT count towards this school year, but will count towards your 2022/2023 Parent Participation hours (this is not negotiable).

If you have any questions, please email Jennifer at maintenance@cloverdalecatholicschool.ca
