We have lots of great prizes that have been donated- thank you to all of the parents who have made generous prize donations.
    - Students will all receive a treat (bag of chips or rice krispy square) and a juicebox on walkathon day. Please see the ingredients at then end of the Feed.
    - If you or a family/friend are donating online, it is very important that you please choose a Giving Group rather than just donating to the general fundraiser. Here are the direct links to the giving groups:

  • Professional Development days- october 14, 17
A reminder that school is closed for students on October 14 and 17th as the staff is having a special two day professional development session. The staff has the privilege of working with Misty Paterson for two days to dive into the redesigned curriculum and reshape how we approach education in this framework. Please note that we have not added extra pro-d days this year, we have just put two together given the nature of the session. We will not be taking part in the October 21 Provincial Pro-D session that other schools will be a part of.

  • Cross Country- Congratulations to our CCS Cross country team who placed 13 out of 36 schools! A great achievement for a small school. Thank you to our coaches Mrs. Pistrin, Mrs. Schneider and Mr. K for their hard work this season with the team. Honourable mentions go to:

    • Ava in Grade 4 who placed 8th in her age division

    • Fatima in Grade 5 who placed 9th in her age division

    • Sofia in Grade 7 who placed 4th in her age division!

  • Earthquake Early Warning System Test will be happening on October 19th. This is a system wide test to ensure that all of the systems work. The sound of the siren may be a bit scary for our younger students, but our teachers will be giving advance warning and I will reiterate that it is only a test. Please front load your child at home as well if you feel that they would benefit from that.

  • Summer Uniform is extended due to the warm weather. This applies to boys shorts. I will let you know when boys shorts are no longer permitted.

  • 3 Way Conferences are happening Nov. 2, 3, 4. A sign up link will be coming home next week for you to sign up for the conferences. Please keep your eye out for this as it is on a first sign up basis.

  • Christmas Crafts Volunteers needed
Urgent Student Christmas Craft Meeting, Tuesday, October 18th at 9:00am in the Parish Centre.

All parents looking to assist in the individual student crafts for the parish bazaar (experienced or not) please bring your ideas on Tuesday, October 18th at 9:00am to the Parish Centre, to plan and prepare for this year’s Parish Bazaar in November. For additional information or questions, please email Kate Verrelli at: mrskateverrelli@gmail.com.

  • Parent Participation Update
There has been a flurry of tasks posted by the Fundraising Group on the OnVolunteers website.  Please check regularly to not miss out.

    https://portal.onvolunteers.com/login.aspx?s=ccs.bc

It also seems like some email programs are starting to block the OnVolunteers notifications.  Please add the following email to your ‘Safe Senders' List

    no-reply@onvolunteers.com

This way the email program is less likely to block out messages from OnVolunteers, and you will be able to see all the task notifications.
