Important Information

United Day:
The collection for this United Day is for our Chalice sponsor child. Our school has been sponsoring Maite from Brazil for over 10 years, thanks to the generosity of the CCS community. It costs close to $500 per year to sponsor Maite, and so we are asking for your generosity for this dress down day. Sponsoring Maite has provided her and her family with many opportunities they would never have had. The theme is Twins Day, BUT, we don’t want anyone feeling left out and so if it becomes triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets…that is great! As always, $1 for a bag of popcorn in addition to the donation for Chalice.

Student Leadership Team:
Our SLT has a big week! We will have the pleasure of interviewing Ziauddin Yousafzi, father of Malala. Malala is the world’ youngest Nobel Peace Lauriate. She is known for her bravery in standing up for girls’ right to education in Pakistan. She was shot in the face by the Taliban, and miraculously survived. She continues to fight for girls’ and womens’ rights and is one of the most prominent young people in the world. On Friday, the SLT will have a private meeting with Archbishop Miller to talk about our school and share the good work that both they and we do here at CCS. Thank you SLT for being such great ambassadors of CCS!

Grade 5 Boys Basketball Team:
Congratulations to our Grade 5 boys basketball team for winning the Star of the Sea tournament yesterday! They exhibited great sportsmanship and teamwork and represented CCS very well.

Welcome to Mr. Krammer:
Mr. Grosjean will be leaving on a paternity leave for the next 6 weeks, starting Monday. We wish him and his wife all the best as they prepare to welcome their new baby! A warm welcome to Mr. Krammer who will be covering from now until Spring Break!

Thank you from the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul

SSVP Society has been helping the less fortunate in our area for over 20 years.

We are helping approximately 22 people each Tuesday morning.

We continue to offer hot dogs and hot chocolate each morning. Nonperishable food, bread and baked goods, frozen food and fresh vegetables are distributed also. Currently we are distributing donated adult warm winter clothing.

We are very grateful to parents of Cloverdale Catholic School for the donations made over Christmas. The nonperishable items donated have stocked our cupboards for the next two months! The grocery cards will enable us to purchase nonperishable food for the next several months.

The generosity of the school community both supports and empowers those in need. We cannot thank you enough.

Parent Participation Update:
Families, are you on track to complete your parent participation hours by the deadline of May 31st 2024? The requirement is 40 hours.

34 regular hours and 6 maintenance hours for a total of 40 hours. Failure to complete hours will result in a non completion bill. The breakdown is: $30 per missing regular hour and $60 per missing maintenance hour.

There are plenty of volunteer opportunities at the school during the week, after school and on weekends at the Parish. Below is the link for tasks.
