Important Information

Walkathon 2023:
We had a great walkathon today! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make today a success. Please do not hand in any pledge forms or money until the week of October 30. Collections will continue after walkathon- let’s work hard and reach our goal! Our awesome prizes include:

  • Chromebook and $100 gift card for top primary and top intermediate collector

  • $100 gift card for top pledger (# of pledges)

  • Pizza and movie party for top primary and top intermediate class AND for every $75 raised, students will get a draw ticket for:

    • 2 Canucks hockey game tickets on Nov. 20 vs San Jose

    • Scooter

    • Lego sets

    • and many more!

Interim Report Cards:
Your child will be bringing home their interim report card on Friday. Please make sure that sign and return. A link will be coming home soon for you to sign up for 3 Way conferences that are coming up in November.

Criminal record Checks:
When you or a family member apply for a criminal records check online please email Marnie at the office and let her know to expect a criminal records check. Often the last name on the CRC does not match anyone in our school.

ERASE Family Sessions:
This is a very worthwhile and FREE offering from Safer Schools.
Recommended for Parents/Caregivers/Grandparents and youth aged 10 and up as a way to facilitate the conversation of safe and caring use of technology at home and in the community. This session covers all things digital, from how to be a good digital citizen, the criminal consequences of cyberbullying, and how to report and receive support in cases of sexting/sextortion. Some of the most prominent concerns currently surrounding use of social media platforms, smartphones, and artificial intelligence will be discussed. Click here to register.

Urgent Student Christmas Craft Meeting, Monday, October 23rd at 11am via zoom.

    • Movie Night is next Friday, October 27th! Concession pre-order forms are due back to school next Tuesday! Limited hot food concession is available for those who miss pre-order. Entrance is by donation & doors open at 5:30pm.

    • Return-It Bottle Refund Program:

      All you need to do is visit any Return-It Express Location and enter the CCS phone number (604) 574-5151 at the kiosk. Print your labels, stick them on your empties & help CCS!

Parent Participation Weekly Report:
Families, please check your Onvolunteer accounts to see how many hours you have completed to date.  It is your responsibility to submit ad hoc tasks within one month in order for it to be approved.  The program requirement is 34 regular hours and 6 maintenance hours for a total of 40 hours.  Deadline for completion is May 31st, 2024.  Non completion rates are as follows: $30 an hour per missing regular hour and $60 an hour per missing maintenance hour.  No show fees will apply so please be considerate and show up for tasks you have committed to.
