Important Information

Walkathon 2023:
Please bring in pledge forms and any cash or checks next week. We can only do the prize draw once we have everyone’s in. Thank you for your hard work with this year’s walkathon- we are still not quite at our goal, but I remain positive that we will reach it!

United Day:
Next Tuesday is United Day! It is Halloween Colours day NOT costume day. Students are invited to wear Halloween colours and accessories. Halloween tshirts (only appropriate ones that do not depict violence or gore) are permitted. All proceeds will go to Holy Childhood with an extra $1 for popcorn!

3 Way Conference sign up:
Please sign up for your child(ren)’s 3 way conference here. Sign up quick to secure your preferred days and times.

Athletics:
FALL ATHLETICS UPDATE

Congratulations to our volleyball and soccer teams this fall season. There were many highlights but most importantly there were many lessons learned, and skills developed.  Good luck to the grade 4/5 boys soccer team who will be representing CCS at the championship tournament.

BASKETBALL SEASON

As we conclude the fall, athletics season, we look ahead to January basketball games.  We will once again attempt to field six basketball teams from grades, five, six and seven. Practises will begin the week of November 6.  The following link contains the details of our practice days for each grade and their sponsor coaches.

Basketball schedule

Lost and found:
We still have many items that remain unclaimed. Please remember to label all of your child(ren)’s items!
See updated inventory here.

Interim Report Cards:
Your child will be bringing home their interim report card today. Please ensure that you read it and sign and return the form.

Criminal record Checks:
When you or a family member apply for a criminal records check online please email Marnie at the office and let her know to expect a criminal records check. Often the last name on the CRC does not match anyone in our school.

ERASE Family Sessions:
This is a very worthwhile and FREE offering from Safer Schools.
Recommended for Parents/Caregivers/Grandparents and youth aged 10 and up as a way to facilitate the conversation of safe and caring use of technology at home and in the community. This session covers all things digital, from how to be a good digital citizen, the criminal consequences of cyberbullying, and how to report and receive support in cases of sexting/sextortion. Some of the most prominent concerns currently surrounding use of social media platforms, smartphones, and artificial intelligence will be discussed. Click here to register.

PFG Weekly Report:

Parent Participation Weekly Report:
Friendly reminder, parents may only claim parent participation hours for the amount of time spent driving children to and from sporting events. Unless you are coaching/ refereeing, time spent as a spectator does not count towards hours.

Ad hoc tasks are to be submitted only if the task was not posted on the website, or if the task took longer than expected and you need to claim more time. If you have signed up on the website, there is no need to submit an ad hoc request.  This just creates a duplication and makes verification confusing for the coordinators.

The Parish is looking for regular volunteers who can commit to facilitating the Children's Liturgy of the Word at the Sunday 11am mass.  Please follow the link to register.

If there are any questions regarding the parent participation program, do not hesitate to email @ parentparticipation@cloverdalecatholicschool.ca

From the Parish:

Thank you for your continued support! Have a safe and restful Thanksgiving weekend!

God Bless,

Mr. Heah and Mrs. Krammer
